This superb reddish-orange glassy Spessartine floater crystal which exhibits stepped growth striations highlighten, this gemmy crystal. Despite its thickness it's wine-red and fully translucent throughout, when backlit.
From the Navegadora Mine in Penha do Norte, Doce valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Also known as "Orozimbo Mine" after the farmer who owns the land in the Penha do Norte. Aimorés pegmatite district, Eastern Brazilian pegmatite province.
